Oh New Jersey
Maybe not the prettiest
But we sure do miss her face
March was restless
Excited for no school
But two weeks turned into 3,4,5,6
April was really blue
By the time is was May we missed everyone’s face
June was full of heartbreak
But July felt like disgrace
No summer fun
Life closed off around us
Forgetting people’s faces
Voices feel like memories
Most of us are losing patients
Hybrid learning in September
Praying this year would be more fun
Back to virtual by January
Heartbroken once more
But in all the serious we learned
How exactly to take care of one another
Better health resources
Mental health recognition
More therapy, more help and understanding
While our new good friend COVID has become a face we know quite well,
We will go down in history for the facts, the hardships, and the way we stood together
The hardest time of our lives aspired greatness in many
Allowing many to follow their dreams and become great once more.
